Pastor Marc Dalton was born December 8, 1955 in Bloomington, Indiana to Mr. & Mrs. Dave Dalton. At age one the Dalton family moved to Martinsville, Indiana where they lived until Pastor Dalton was 16 years of age. During Pastor Dalton’s childhood days in Indiana, he grew up in the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle, where his parents were charter members. Pastor Dalton was led to Christ by his father at age 8, and was baptized through the ministries of the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle.
Pastor Dalton’s family moved to the greater Toledo area in March of 1972, and joined the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperance, Michigan. Pastor Dalton has often commented that his life verse growing up was “For me to live is sports, and to die is gain.” Sports was the love of his life, and during the teen years he had a great struggle in surrendering his life to the Lord to do His will. Late in Pastor Dalton’s teen years, he surrendered to the Lord and began preparing for the ministry. After graduating from Monroe Community College with an Associates’ degree in Mathematics, Pastor Dalton enrolled in Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, Tennessee, under the leadership of Dr. Lee Roberson to begin preparing for the ministry. He graduated in January of 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible, and Secondary Education.
The summer before Pastor Dalton’s senior year in college, he married Karen Sue Edwards of the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church, where they worked on a bus route together prior to going to Bible College.
Upon graduation from Bible College, Pastor Dalton was asked by his home pastor, Dr. Les Hobbins, to come back and be his associate on the staff at the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperance, Michigan. From 1979 to 1991, Pastor Dalton served the Lord at Lewis Avenue in many different areas.
In 1991, the Faith Baptist Church of Sedalia, Missouri called Pastor Dalton to be their pastor. His family moved to Sedalia, Missouri and saw great blessings in the church during his stay there.
In 1992, the Lord directed Pastor Dalton and his family back to the staff of the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church, where he assumed many of his same areas of responsibility, and began to administrate State Line Christian School. During the almost 25 years at Lewis Avenue the Lord worked in an unusual way, and multitudes were reached with the gospel, and scores of graduates are serving the Lord around the world.
In August of 2004, the Lakecrest Baptist Church of Waterford, Michigan extended a call to Pastor Dalton, and he accepted the call.
