Our website went down recently due to upgrades on the server that we use. We are in the process of building a new church website so please be patient with us during this brief time.
The Lakecrest Baptist Church has elected Bro. Kevin Dail from the Fellowship Baptist Church in Durham, NC to be the next Pastor. The church vote was held on Wednesday night September 10, 2014, and Bro. Dail and his family graciously accepted the call a short time later. We are excited about what the Lord is going to do in and through Pastor Dail and his wife and family. Please pray for our church as we continue in our mission, the Great Commission. (Matt. 28:18-20)

Pastor Dalton gave this vision for our church on January 5, 2014 in the evening service. The Lord took him home later that night. We at LBC have embraced this vision and run with it as we have with our theme for this year, “Building & Battling.” We are praying for God’s grace as we build this year. The vision for our ministry as it pertains to our building and grounds is in six phases listed below.
To begin phases one and two, we have started a bucket drive (using empty paint buckets), with the goal of filling 100 buckets with $500 dollars each.
1. Educational Building repairs.
- Includes a new roof on the Ed. Building and a tile floor in the gym.
- Expense: $40,000
- Begin raising funds now through offerings and finish raising the funds with a fundraising banquet on March 28.
2. New carpet in the Educational Building.
- Complete after phase #1 and before school begins in August 2014.
- Expense: $5,600
3. Parking lot repairs.
4. Pay off existing mortgage on the auditorium.
5. Remodel existing gymnasium into classrooms and remove modular building.
6. Build a new LBC activity center.
The memorial service for Pastor Dalton will be held on Friday the 10th of January at 6:00 pm in the main church auditorium at 35 Airport Road. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm preceding the service, and for family beginning at 3:00 pm. Pastor Rick Finley from the Fellowship Baptist Church in Durham, NC will be officiating. Nursery services will be provided on behalf of the ladies from Dixie Baptist Church in Springfield Township, MI.
Interment will be at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, OH on Saturday the 11th.
We appreciate all of the prayers as well as the many gestures of kindness from the community and abroad as we go through this very difficult time in our church family. Following is the link to Pastor Dalton’s obituary.
Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Many have called asking how they might help out the Pastor’s wife in this time of need. A fund has been set up for her at the church to help with the added expenses at this time. If you do wish to contribute in this way, you may send your help to Lakecrest Baptist Church, 35 Airport Rd., Waterford, MI 48327. Please add Mrs. Karen Dalton in the memo.
Thank you for all of your help at this time.
